Hunter’s Moon- Ghost
Life is funny.
I don’t mean the “hehe” funny, I mean the type of funny where your teeth are gritted in a rictus grin because it’s that or cry. Funny because you can only find it humorous after Life has kicked you in the ribs for the umpteenth time while you’re desperately trying to get your existence in some semblance of order. I’m being dramatic.
My car windshield broke. I was driving down the interstate on the way to pick up my roommate from work when something flew up and hit my windshield so hard it knocked my rearview mirror askew. At first, I just accepted it for what it was until I parked and realized that, whatever had left the sizeable smash in the windshield of my car could have easily come through and, if it would have, I likely would have died. Whatever it was would have hit me in the chest and, if that didn’t kill me, the car accident it would have caused likely would. It’s safe to say I was pretty shaken up but the whole ordeal, but I’ve always been one to roll with the punches. Keep on carrying on, yanno?
I’m caught up in my school work in one of my two classes and just not have to find the willpower to sit down and catch up with the second. Right now, that takes precedence over my usual preoccupations because this is my last semester and I want to finish it off with a good GPA. However, I am spending my time editing Bound by Blood with a tentative plan of releasing it for ARC readers in November, which is swiftly creeping up. I would like to publish before the end of the year is out, and move on to other projects. My goal for 2025 is to release four books and to really start padding out my author’s profile. Those books will likely be Ghosts, Possessed by Blood, the beginning of my Ravenscar Academy novella series, and one of my shorter projects. Four book releases for 2025 is a lofty goal, but it helps I already have some progress on three of those.
The Ravenscar Academy novella series is going to be one of my favorites, I think. Each novella will be pretty short, but the story is based off of a game of Monsterhearts I ran for my friends. There’s sex, drugs, rock and roll, murder, intrigue, cultists, eldritch abominations, vampires, ghosts, faeries, and all sorts of shenanigans. The story follows the group of main characters who are teenage monsters trying to navigate life while also (poorly) hiding the fact that they are monsters. Each of the main characters has a profile on my website you can check out if you would like to, just go to the WIP page, scroll down to the RA area, and they should be there. These characters are created by my friends and are just a little more fleshed out by me. I would like to say I don’t have a favorite because DMs are supposed to be impartial, but I have to admit that Livana Carras, the resident teen vampire created by Ash Bryant, is definitely my favorite. A bullied girl with albinism who gets turned into a vampire??? Come on. I have a serious weakness for vampires as it is. I will release more news on the books as I get farther along. Final exams are in December, so we’ll see how the next two months go for me.
